BJ and Steve have four children, all girls, and all now in college or beyond.
Tabitha graduated from Evergreen State College, lives in Portland, and is very politically active. Savannah graduated from Washington State University, lives in the Tri-cities area, and is a manager at Amazon. She is married to Josh, a Community Corrections Officer (a probation officer for the Washington State Department of Corrections). Mindy is at Washington State University in Spokane studying to be an RN and is a basketball referee for high schools and the YMCA. Jilly is at the University of Washington (my alma mater) studying criminal psychology, and is fluent in Italian. Steve is very proud of each of his children! BJ and Steve began fostering children in 2007. Their first foster child was Aaron, whom they had from age 9 months to 3 years. Aaron was adopted by a family in Yakima. Steve considers Aaron to be like one of his children and visits him and his family often. BJ and Steve have fostered many other children over the years, and have special memories of each one.
